Mini Lessons + Printables

Easily add some history to your homeschool schedule this year!

Choose your adventure with these series of video mini lessons plus printable activities.

The EASIEST way for your homeschooler to learn history!

History isn’t just a collection of dates and events – it’s the key to understanding the world we live in today. Our mini-lesson series are carefully crafted to:

      • Make History Relevant: Our present-centric method connects the events of history to their effects on the world of today. Your child will see why these facts matter – because they help us understand the world we live in!
      • Build Real Understanding: Most adults left our grade-school history education remembering no more than a vague collection of names and events. We want something better for our kids, and this is it! Your child will learn – and remember – the key events that help explain the world as it is today.
      • Save You Time: Each 5-10 minute video lesson is designed to fit easily into your schedule, with optional activities for deeper learning.
      • Work perfectly for YOUR homeschool needs: We give you a range of learning activities and suggestions that you can combine in a way that works perfectly for your family. Children of different ages can learn together.
      • Create Confidence: When your child understands these fundamental historical facts, everything else in history makes more sense!

Why Our Approach Works

Our unique approach focuses on Anchor FactsTM – the most important events and concepts that explain how our world came to be. Think of them as the “keys” that unlock understanding of history. Learn more about the present-centric approach to history developed by historian and teacher, Scott Powell, in this blog post.

Each Series Includes:

Video Lessons

All of the Anchor Fact video mini-lessons are available for free on our Youtube channel. You can also access them inside the course portal along with all the other materials once you purchase or enroll below.

Printable Timelines

These printable timelines help your student remember each Anchor Fact and put them in context. You can print the completed timeline for them to refer to during the lessons and activities, or print the blank timeline that they can complete as they finish the worksheet.

Worksheets

Each lesson has a printable worksheet that can help your student stay engaged in the lesson and reflect on what they are learning. Worksheets feature a few short-answer questions or activities along with an idea for further study. Each sheet also has a “stamp” that your child can cut out and glue on to the appropriate space on the timeline to help them remember the anchor fact from the lesson.
